Festive Spicy Almonds

Ingredients
  

  • 20 g butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups whole blanched almonds
  • Spicy mix
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • pinch cayenne pepper

Instructions
 

  • First make the spice mix, combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Melt butter and oil in a frying pan over medium heat and quickly add almonds.
  • Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from heat.
  • Drain excess oil. Add spice mix and toss to coat. Return to heat.
  • Cook, stirring often, for 2 minutes or until golden. Spread on a tray lined with baking paper to cool slightly. Your choice serve warm or cold.
