It’s difficult to be on Keto at this time of year while everyone is enjoying Carb filled Christmas fare and drinks. To make life somewhat easier we have Christmas Cocktails that won’t mess with your Keto Diet. Well, cheers to that. But remember always drink in moderation.

What Makes A Cocktail Low-Carb?

Most liquors—like rum, tequila, vodka, and whiskey—have no carbs on their own. But when you start adding the juices, syrups, and mixers that make a cocktail, the carbs start to creep up.  Carbohydrates are made out of sugars so the more sugar you have in a cocktail, the more carbs there will be. To keep that number down, use low-carb mixers like diet tonic, soda water

Here are some great options for low-carb, festive season, keto-friendly cocktails you can make at home to stay on track without sacrificing your keto journey.

Vodka Martini

Since martinis don’t contain juices, syrup and sugar like other cocktails do, a single martini is less than 1g of net carbs. It doesn’t matter if you’re using gin or vodka, on keto you can enjoy both but always in moderation
